Privacy Policy

WikiFlow is a free mobile application that delivers Wikipedia/Wikimedia content and knowledge-based games (WikiRace, daily challenges, article guessing, etc.). The app operates entirely anonymously — no account creation is required.

This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you use the app, how it is used, and your rights. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

The following data may be collected automatically:

• Device ID: A randomly generated anonymous identifier used to track sessions. It is not linked to your Apple/Google account or real identity. Stored on device and backend for 12 months.
• Game Session Data: Game type, language preference, score, completion status. Linked to the device ID, not to a real person. Stored on backend for 12 months.
• App Preferences: Language selection, theme (light/dark mode). Stored locally on device only.

The app uses Google AdMob to serve ads so it can remain free. Google AdMob may collect:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID)
• IP address (for approximate location)
• Device information (model, OS version)
• Ad interaction data (clicks, impressions)

WikiFlow does not collect:

• Name, surname, email address, or phone number
• Real identity or user account information
• Location data (GPS or precise location)
• Microphone, camera, or photo gallery access
• Contacts list or calendar data

Collected data is used only for:

• Game session management: tracking active game processes
• Personalization: remembering your language and theme preferences
• Daily challenge: tracking completed challenges per device
• Service improvement: anonymous usage statistics
• Ad serving: to sustain the free service

WikiFlow fetches all article content from Wikipedia/Wikimedia. Article texts are protected under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). Image licenses vary; attribution information is shown for each item within the app.

Your data is not shared with third parties except in the following cases. Your data is never sold or commercially transferred.

• Google AdMob: For ad serving. Google's own privacy policy applies.
• Wikimedia/Wikipedia: For content retrieval via our backend server.
• Legal requirement: In response to a court order or legal demand.

• Backend server is protected with HTTPS
• Device ID is kept at the app level; not passed to third-party analytics
• Game sessions and device ID: 12 months (deleted if no activity)
• Ad data: per Google's policy (typically 13 months)
• No credit card or financial information is processed

WikiFlow is not designed for children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a user under 13, please contact us; the data will be deleted.

You have the right to know whether your personal data is being processed, to request information about it, to request correction or deletion, and to object to processing.

Since the app only collects an anonymous device ID, identifying a specific real person may not be technically possible.

This policy may be updated from time to time. For material changes, a notification will be shown in the app and the last-updated date on this page will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
