Privacy Policy

Tefeül is a simple mobile app that presents content such as Quran verses, hadith, and prayer times for reading and reflection. The app does not require users to create an account or sign in.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Tefeül app handles user data.

The app does not create a profile that identifies users.

Tefeül does not collect, store, or sell the following personal data from its users:

• Name, email address, phone number, or contact information
• Photos, camera, microphone, or contacts data
• User account or sign-in information
• User-generated content

Tefeül may use your location only to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction based on where you are.

• Location permission is requested only “while using the app” and is entirely optional.
• If you do not grant permission, the app continues to work; you can select a city manually instead of using location.
• Your location is not stored permanently on your device and is not used for advertising or tracking.
• To calculate prayer times, your coordinates (or the city you select) are sent to an external content provider service that performs this calculation (Aladhan – api.aladhan.com). This is done solely to calculate prayer times.

Some app settings, such as selected language, theme preference, and font size, are stored only locally on the user’s device.

These preferences are used only to improve the app experience; they are not sent to the developer’s servers and are not shared with third parties.

Tefeül requires an internet connection to display Quran verses, hadith content, Quran audio, and prayer times.

When the app requests content from external content provider services, standard technical data such as IP address, device information, or request metadata may be processed by those services as part of normal internet communication.

Tefeül does not use this information to identify users or create user profiles.

To be offered for free, Tefeül may display Google AdMob ads.

To provide the advertising service, Google may collect and process certain information, such as device identifiers and ad interaction data, under its own privacy policy.

You can limit personalized ads from your device settings.

To improve the app’s stability and experience, Tefeül may use tools such as Firebase Analytics (usage statistics) and Sentry (error/crash reports).

These tools may collect usage and technical data (for example, app events, device type, crash information). This data is not used to identify you and serves only to help improve the app.

Tefeül may optionally send prayer time reminders. The time calculations required for these notifications are based on the city or location you select.

Notification permission is entirely optional; if you do not grant it, the app continues to work with its other features.

Tefeül does not currently include in-app purchases or subscriptions. Future versions may offer optional in-app purchase options such as ad-free use or additional features.

Such purchases are processed directly through the Apple App Store; your payment information is processed by Apple and is not shared with the developer. When this feature is added, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Tefeül does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies and does not perform cross-app tracking.

Tefeül does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

The app is intended for general reading and reflection; it does not include social features, messaging, or user-generated content areas.

Tefeül may request the following permissions, only for the relevant feature and on an optional basis. None of these permissions are mandatory; if you do not grant them, the app continues to work with its core features.

• Location – for prayer times and qibla direction
• Notifications – for prayer time reminders

Tefeül does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

Data is processed only to operate the services described in this policy (content providers, advertising, and analytics services) and only to the extent necessary.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or updates to privacy practices.

Updates will be published on this page with a new effective date.
